Weddings FAQ's

I have compiled a list of very helpful questions that wedding couples typically ask me when they interview me. I also included some useful info about hiring a wedding photographer that wedding couples typically don't ask but should.

1.) How many weddings have you photographed?
This is a the #1 asked question by all wedding couples. And to this my response is I have lost count. I started photographing weddings in 2004 and have not stopped since. My best answer is I average about 22 weddings a year, so that adds up to 132 weddings. Wow it seems like I have photographed thousands.

2.) Do you have back up equipment?
Very important question. All professional photographers should be equipped with back up equipment. In my 7 years of photographing weddings I have seen equipment fail. Accidents and malfunction can and do occur. However, I am prepared. I have complete backup equipment if anything should arise on my clients special day.

3.) Do you subcontract other photographers for weddings?
NO.
When you interview a wedding photographer and are looking at their wedding albums that they have photographed you need to make sure that A. the work you are looking at is indeed their work & B. that the person you are interviewing is going to be the person showing up photographing your wedding day.
I have seen photography companies book up to 10 weddings on a single day.
The problem with this? You may get a photographer who has very little experience.

4.) Do you do destination wedding photography?
YES!! I love to travel and enjoy photographing weddings in Hawaii, Mexico and all the 50 states. Typically 6 months notice is required for destination wedding photography.
I also photograph a lot of wedding couples who come to San Diego as a wedding destination. I know all the beautiful locations in San Diego to create stunning wedding photography.

5.) Do you only photograph weddings?

I photograph mostly weddings. However, I am branching out and photographing a lot more quinceañera in San Diego. A quinceañera is a young girls special celebration of her 15th birthday. It is sometimes described as a young girls first wedding. In my experience quinceañera have been such a pleasure to work with. They are very good girls who are being given a big celebration because they have earned it.
